Here is my solution to last Friday's The Math Contest question of the day.

A better solution than mine below, but similar but no trig, is to  use the same layout but call x and y the sides of the right angled triangle.  Use Pythagorean Thm such that x =12 - 2R and y = 9 -2R and the hypotenuse is 2R.  Will work out the same as mine.  Thanks Johnny.

Today's song of the day is from 87 from this Van Nuys Cali band's debut album, Life Time.  The lead singer used to be the lead singer for the band Black Flag.  The band is The Rollins Band and the song is Burned Beyond Recognition.  It would be great if put-in was burned beyond recognition in the meatgrinder.  Below is a live version at Lee's Palace on Bloor St. in Toronto from 89.
