Today's song of the day is from 93 from this Olympia Washington band's single.  It was on the A side along with Rebel Girl and B side Demirep.  I have read that Kathleen Hanna spray painted Kurt Cobain's apartment wall with "Kurt smells like teen spirit".  The rest goes down in history.  The band is Bikini Kill and today's song is New Radio.  A rebel girl should put put-in the meatgrinder.  Below is a studio and live version.

Today's song of the day has been used before in '22 but I just heard it again and love it.  One of the bands that started the Riot Grrrl movement.  It came out in 93.  It was produced by Joan Jett who also did some guitar and backing vocals on the single.  The song was on the album Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah.  The single came out as an EP and 7 inch.  It is the band's signature song.  There is a rumour that Courtney Love sucker punched the lead singer Kathleen Hanna.  The band is Bikini Kill and the song is Rebel Girl.  The version I am showing is a more raw version.  A rebel girl should sucker punch put-in into the meatgrinder.
