Song of the Day for Monday

Not Motorhead but this all female British metal band has been around for 40 years.  Girlschool was a decent band in the 80s and basically just played the big festivals or opened for big bands for 20 years after that.  Love the feathered hair.  Lemmy loved them.  If you are Canadian and  making any amazon.ca purchase please click on my links below first as I will get a small commission on anything you buy even if it is something else.   Thanks. Song of the Day for Tuesday

Welcome to the first day of school if you are in Ontario.  Here is a song that has nothing to do with that.  The band is Helmet and the song is Unsung.  It came out in 1991 and was produced by one of the greatest, Steve Albini.  If you are Canadian and  making any amazon.ca purchase please click on my links below first as I will get a small commission on anything you buy even if it is something else.   Thanks. Tell your friends.  Hell tell your enemies.

I am Ozzy

Lets start off by saying that I have not ever been a big Ozzy fan and for that matter own no Black Sabbath albums.  That doesn't mean I don't like a couple of B.S. songs.  It also doesn't mean I don't think he is a character and might have a fun story or two to tell. So I read this old codgers book around Christmas.   I know that the MTV version of Ozzy is not something I ever watched but I was sure there was something to say in I Am Ozzy if it discussed his pre MTV life.  Well the book did.  I really liked the book.  It told many tales of this rocker.  There is a fair bit of swearing and his British accent does come across.  He shares tales of many things such as the Randy Rhoads airplane crash into his tour bus, him being arrested for pissing on the Alamo,  the hash cake that almost killed the vicar, jail and the usual sex, drugs and rock and roll.  Again I am not an MTV Ozzy fan but I did enjoy the book.   If you are Canadian and making any amazon.ca purchase please click on my link below first.  Thanks.
