Today's song of the day is from 83 off this NYC band's first hip hop single after being an experimental  punk band called Young Aborigines.    The song makes reference to an ice cream.  The song uses many prank phone calls.  This song is the first with new member Adam Horovitz aka Ad-Roc.  The band is The Beastie Boys and the song is none other than Cookie Puss.  Cookie Puss needs to take put-in to the meat grinder.

Not my fav but I heard it on the wifey's car and thought Mikey might like it.  It was released in 92 from this Merican hip-hop band's second album Hard Or Smooth.  It was the lead single from this album.  This song is not to be confused with The Beastie Boys song Shake Your Rump.  Today's song is by Wreckx-N-Effect and is called Rump Shaker.  Better song would be t rump shaker or put put-in's rump  in the meat grinder shaker.  Below I give you both Rump songs.

Today's song comes from 1989 from a rap group from the US and A.  The song was the only song on the album to get anywhere.  Lots of sampling on the album including  Ballroom Blitz by Sweet, Hush by Deep Purple and Pump It Up by P-Funk Allstars.  Yep Mike D, Ad Rock and MCA.  Best line in the song "Break up with your girl it ended in tears    Vincent Van Gogh go and mail that ear"  The album was Paul's Boutique and the song was Hey Ladies.

I will try something a little different today.  It won't be a song of the day.  The last two days had as featured artists Bikini Kill and Beastie Boys.  I decided to put a little spoken word from Kathleen Hanna the lead singer from Bikini Kill telling a couple stories.  Second both front persons of each band are married to each other.  So I found an awesome interview of both of them by Dan Rather.  If you have the time enjoy them.
