Here is today's The Math Contest question of the day.

I was fast.  I guess only a few milliseconds too slow though.  I am sure some of these punters can divide two numbers in their head to 3 decimal places and then round.  Dang.  Could of used the extra point.

Today's pic is from May 30th this year.  I was cutting the grass and Sinisa dropped by on his way to his mother's house.  He was a great highschool steepler.  He is now back into running and ran a 35:10 10k last weekend at a Master's race as he is now in the big 40 age group.  He is wearing a Kennedy Cross T Shirt.

Today's song is from 79 on this UK band's third album.  Can't say the name as it is a big giveaway.  The two record set has an iconic cover.  It shows Paul Simonon smashing his Fender bass on stage.  The bass is now in The  Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.   It was the third single off this album and the song is not listed on the original pressing as the inner sleeve was already produced when they decided to add this song to the album.  The album is London Calling and therefore the band is The Clash and the song is Train In Vain (Stand By Me).  It would not be vain to try and have a train run over put-in and then take him to the meat grinder.  RIP Joe.  Hard to believe it has been almost 22 years.

Today's song of the day is from 22 and is a cover from a UK band's single from 79.  After the invasion of Ukraine by ruzzia the original band gave today's band permission to change the lyrics and raise money for the war effort in Ukraine.  In the black and white video the only colour is that of the Ukrainian flag.  I have used this song before but I heard it today and said I will use it again.  Today's song was originally by The Clash and was London Calling.  The cover is Kyiv Calling by Beton.

Happy Canada Day to all Canadians.  Today's song of the day is from my grade 9 year 1979 on one of the top 10 best albums of all time in my humble opinion.  The song praises the "rude boys" of Jamaica.  It has a ska feeling.  The song is sung as a duet between Joe Strummer (RIP) and Mick Jones.   This is a band I never got to see and did not want to see after their prime but did see several  incarnations of the band later.  I picked the song for the p.o.s rudy guiliani.  fuck him and putin.  The song is off the album London Calling and is Rudie Can't Fail.
