Today's song of the day is from 78, off this UK band's debut album, Crossing The Red Sea With The Adverts.  Ok so you know who the band is but what is the song?  The song was actually released as the lead single in 77 and was the first track on the album.  The band is The Adverts and the song is One Chord Wonders.  I wonder when someone will wrap a chord around put-in's neck whilst he is in the meatgrinder.  Below I give you the studio version followed by a live version.  Enjoy.

The song of the day is a punk song from a British band is 77.  The bass player was a female named Gaye Advert.  The band played at the Roxy quite a bit and opened for Gen X.  They even played on the BBC's Top of The Pops.  The song is about someone that receives an eye transplant from a killer that has donated his body to science.  Do you know who it is?  It is the Adverts with Gary Gilmore's Eyes.  Gilmore was executed for a double murder and donated his body to science saying the only thing that will be good will be his eyes.   Thus the song.  Sorry for forgetting to post the video yesterday until late.  Senior moment.  Oh yeah, fuck putin.  Fuck russia.
