Today's song is from a band formed by two brothers from London England.  The song came out in the year I was born, a long time ago, 1965.  It was released as the B side of a single whose A side was Till The End Of The Day.  I know that does not help you so here is another hint.  It was on the band's third album The Kink Kontroversy.  Ok here is another hint.  The song was covered by David Bowie on Pinups in 73.  No?  Ok, it was also covered in 82 by a band with two brothers.  The cover band's album was Diver Down.  Ok if you are old enough you know the cover band and might guess the song.  The song is Where Have All The Good Times Gone by The Kinks.  The cover band was Van Halen.  It will be nice when people say where has all the put-in gone.  We will know it is in the meat grinder.  Below I give you The Kinks version along with Van Halen live and David Bowie studio.  As a free bonus I also give you David Bowie and Ray Davies doing a duet.  No extra charge but you can make a donation.  ;)

Today's song comes from 1970 from an English band off the album Lola Versus Powerman And The Money Goround, Part One.  That is a mouthful.  The song takes place in London.  Actually in South Hampton.  You can't talk about the topic here in Flo Rida or Gov. Deathsentence will be made at you.  There were two brothers in the band.  I wonder if Lou Reed's song Take A Walk On The Wild Side was influenced by this song.  Okay another hint.  South Hampton is SoHo.  Another... The BBC made the band change Coca Cola to Cherry Cola.  Another...  She walk like a women and talk like a man.  The band is The Kinks and the song is Lola.  If powerman is put-in then I put my money on Lola.

Today's song is a cover by the band that was covered the last two days.  That means you have to read my last two days post, lol.   It is actually a nice cover of Ray and Dave.  The original was done in 64 by a UK band on their debut album and in 78 by the US and A's eponymous debut album from Van Halen. Okay I am still going with banned songs because I want to.  If you don't like it tough ti++y.  This song came out in 1970 by an English band.  It is about a tranny or crossdresser.  Crazy shyt for back then.  Couple of brothers in the band.  Songs name is one word, just his/her name.  Can you guess it?  The band's brothers  names are Davies.  The bands name could have been thought of as sexual.  Not getting it?  Okay the Kinks with Lola.  Pretty harmless song but for 1970 it is out there with  Lou Reed's Take A Walk On The Wild Side. Glam Rock was just starting with T-Rex, David Bowie and The New York Dolls.  Love the Dolls.  Especially the album cover to their eponymous first album.
