Today's song of the day is from 72 and was given to the band Mott The Hoople to record by the a guy who wrote it, produced it and did backing vocals with them on their album.  The writer was David Bowie and the song is All The Young Dudes.  I will give you a recording with Bowie doing the lead vocals with Mott The Hoople and a live version from 73 from his Ziggy Stardust Tour which is utterly amazing.  Young dudes should put put-in in the meatgrinder.

Today's song is from 82 from this English goth rock band's cover of a great song in it's own right from 72 from a glam rocker.  The 82 version does the original justice.  The song is Ziggy Stardust and the cover is from Bauhaus.  Maybe Ziggy will put put-in the meat  grinder.  Classic album cover.

Today's song came out as a single in 72 for an album in 73. The artist was a glam rocker from the UK.   The guitarist was Mick Ronson.  Part of the video took place at the Mars Hotel in New York which is a hint of the name of the backing band.  The album was called Alladin Sane. The backing band was The Spiders From Mars.  The singer was none other than David Bowie and the song was The Jean Genie.  Ziggy Stardust says fuck putin.
