Today's song comes 1980 and was the lead single of the 4 singles released from this Brit glam rocker's album.  At the time the video was the most expensive ever made and this rocker helped produce it.  The song revisits a character from a previous song.  The album was Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps).  Hope that helps.  The song is Ashes to Ashes and the artist was David Bowie, RIP.  Hopefully put-in will be joining him for a dirt nap soon.

The Struts have covered the song and the song was in Wayne's World.  Party on Garth!  The B side of the single is Rock and Roll Disgrace.  The band was Sweet and the song is The Ballroom Blitz.   russia needs to see the blitzkrieg.

Today's song came out as a single in 72 for an album in 73. The artist was a glam rocker from the UK.   The guitarist was Mick Ronson.  Part of the video took place at the Mars Hotel in New York which is a hint of the name of the backing band.  The album was called Alladin Sane.
