I solved Semantle #34 in 78 guesses. My first guess had a similarity of 8.82.  My first word in the top 1000 was at guess #9.  My penultimate guess had a similarity of 44.24 (992/1000). 

I solved Pimantle #10 with 137 guesses and no hints!  I really had it at around 100 but had a different tense.

 Okay after all my rants here is your song of the day but first F#ck putin.  Hope you have a great weekend.  Just know it will be better than my brothers and sisters in Ukraine.  This US and A rock band put their self titled first album out in 78 and this was on it and was their second single of it.  The B side was Don't Cha Stop in US and Moving in Stereo in Japan.  Can you guess the band?  The lead singer was married to Czech Super Model Paulina Porizkova.  The band is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  Ok the lead singer was Ric Ocasek (RIP).  Ok you got it.  The band is The Cars and the song was My Best Friend's Girl.  I posted a live version from 78 and then their induction version 40 years later in, do the math.

Got another goal on my Tim's Picks.  Here are my picks for tonight.

Today song comes from 1984 from a Scottish band from Glasgow.  I was in Glasgow coaching the Canadian National Junior track team in the summer of  04.  I would go to the track early with the distance group and have to talk to the track attendant.  Boy did he have a tough accent.  Kind of like the character on The Simpsons, you know Groundskeeper Willie but way more difficult.

  

He would say a sentence and I would say "come again".  I would eventually figure it out.  Lol.  Anyways the band was Simple Minds and the song is Up On The Catwalk.
