Today's song is from 87 off this La La Cali band's third album, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan.  The song is the fourth track on the lp.  The guitarist,  Hillel Slovak died of a heroin o.d. after this album and the drummer Jack Irons left the band after this as he was so distraught after his friends death.  The lead singer and bassist have remained with the band to the present and you would instantly recognize them: Anthony Kiedis and Flea.   You know them as The Red Hot Chili Peppers (aka RHCP) and the  song is Backwoods.  Hopefully some ruzzians take put-in to the backwoods and put him in the meat grinder.

Today's song is from the band's eponymous debut album from 1984.  The band is from the US and A.  Big hint Anthony Kiedis is the lead singer.  The song was the first song on the album and the only one to have a music video.  Here is a hint from The Family Guy of who  the bass player is.

 On the video for the song Flea over exaggerates his bass playing like some guitarists did on their music videos at this time.  I saw this band at St Andrew's Hall in the D back in fall of 85.  They wore socks on their schlongs and that was it.  Great show.   I saw them again in 92 as the headliner for Lollapalooza.  This was the second year of the show  and what a lineup.  Shit there was Ministry, Violent Femmes, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Porno For Pyros and as I mentioned right after governor  deathsentence at the top, Tool.   The band is The Red Hot Chili Peppers and the song is True Men Don't Kill Coyotes.  And true men say fuck putin.  That would make a great cover.

Song of the Day for Sunday

 Yesterday I heard a commercial for a concert in Detroit.  It was Journey with special guests Toto.  I hate Journey and I thought I heard Sluggo instead of Toto.  My wife said "Who is Sluggo?"  I said "the clay character from SNL.  You know, Mr Bill, his dog Spot and Mr Hands."  So I showed her a video.  I have it here for you.  This episode was the first one I believe from 1977.  Have seen Mr Bill in a long time.
