Today's song of the day is from 73 from this NYC band's eponymous debut album. Today's band is one of the first 'merican "punk" bands with The Stooges. Their album cover was the band dressed in drag as NYC was so homophobic at the time. They dressed in drag for quite a bit of their shows and were known for their vulgarity on stage. It is funny that all the metal bands copied the glam rockers cross dressing in the 80s with their heels and makeup. The band's two big names were David Johansen and Johnny Thunders. Today's band was The New York Dolls and today's song is Bad Girls. There will be no vulgarities but much cheering when put-in is put in the meatgrinder.

Today's song of the day comes from 73 from a NY band. It was released on 7 inch. It is about a Jet Boy that stole a baby. What the f a jet boy is, I don't know. The song was penned by David Johansen and Johnny Thunders. Okay so that gives away the band as The New York Dolls and the song is obviously Jet Boy. Not to be confused with The Damned's Jet Boy Jet Girl. Definitely not to be confused with put-in gets run over by a Jet oh boy that's nice, he says in his best Borat voice.

Today's song of the day comes from 77 from the US punk band that only put out this one album. It was called L.A.M.F. which stood for Like A Mother F@cker. Today's song is the 3rd song on the album and Walter Lure sings it. The band is The Heartbreakers and the song is All By Myself. RIP Johnny Thunders. All by myself is exactly where putin is.

Okay enough of the banned songs, for now. After mentioning The New York Dolls yesterday I had to come back with Johnny Thunders, David Johansen, Todd Rundgren et al. Man these glam rockers in the 70s were it in NYC. They were shock rockers back then with their drag and makeup. Their stage presence was well ahead of KISS. They never had any commercial success but they were uber important to the lets call it progressive rock scene. They were glam/punk/whatever rock.
