Here is today's The Math Contest question.

So I am running long this morning.  I pop in the house after 21k.  Time it so I have 3 minutes.  Log in.  Wait a minute.  Read the question.  Boom.  I know the answer.  Then I think to my self that my answer is even, oh shit, it is not prime.  I pop a list of prime numbers and start looking at them.  I am sweating after my long run and need to get back out and finish my run.  Ten minutes later I realize that no place in the question does it say prime and my initial thought was correct.  Fudge was I pissed and still had to go run.  Lol.  Would have been top 5 four times this week except for the brain fart.

Today's song of the day was a club hit from this UK band and was the second single in 83 from their own record label, Rebirth.  The band was formerly on Merciful Release label which was the same as The Sisters of Mercy.  Makes sense as both would be considered goth bands.  The band is The March Violets and the song is Snake Dance.  Not Snake Island where we  stuck a middle finger to russia and fuck putin.  I could not find a decent live version but this is a nice mix of the original song synced to a live show.

So today's song has to do with Thursday's passing of a 60 year old legend. He was a keyboardist of a 80s and 90s synth pop and alternate rock band.  A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band from 2020.  The band was from the UK.  His nickname was Fletch.  This is not a big clue to anyone but my wife but they sang our wedding song.  The song of the day is a cover originally recorded by Nat King Cole in 46, covered by Chuck Berry in 61, the Stones in 64 and today's band in 87.  Today's band called the song Behind The Wheel.  I loved dancing at UBC's student pub on Wednesda'y night alternate music night by myself to this song.  That's enough.  The band is Depeche Mode and the song is Route 66.  RIP Andy Fletcher. I can't do without saying it, fuck putin.  fuck russia.  fuck the war crimes.

First and foremost today, Happy Mother's Day.  Miss ya Mom.  Today's song was inspired by the Great state of Texas.  This song comes from the second album from this US and A and Belgium industrial band.  It came out in 90 and had a lot of drum and sampling.  I danced quiet a bit to this at Gracelands in Vancouver.  I missed those days.  The song starts with a few of Texas' best boys talking on the phone about the upcoming appearance of the band thinking it must be a male strip show.  Got your interest now you perve.  There is a part in the song sampled from the movie Deliverance.  It is the redneck scene "Now lets you just drop them pants."   The song is Beers, Steers and Queers and the band is The Revolting Cocks.  Fuck putin.
