From The Math Contest Contest for the week

I was in London today for my son's check up with the knee surgeon so was not there at the drop.  In fact I just did it now at almost 7 pm.  Of course I got it.  Here is my solution to last weeks weekly contest.

Ok the song of the day is from 89 and is Industrial.  It is not Nitzer Ebb.  They are Belgian.  They call their style of music EBM or Electronic Body Music.  I danced to this at Graceland in Vancouver and then ate a great pizza at Dids on Davie after.  Vancouver's pizza sucked but Dids was great.  A little punk hole in the ground that made a great pesto pizza by the slice.  Yum.   The B side of this single was Welcome To Paradise but not the one by Greenday, lol.  The band is Front 242 and the song is Headhunter.

Here is my solution for last Friday's contest.

Just farking realized that Tims still has picks in the playoffs.  Dang.  Missed the whole first week.  Oh well here are tonight's picks.

The idea for today's song of the day came from yesterday's Wordle.  I did it in the morning and told my friend Glen to try it as he will not do it as he has a thing against Wordle since the New York Times bought it.  Anyways the word was "FETUS" which seemed oh so not random with the shit storm happening in the US and A with SCOTUS.  So he did try it and the word he got was "SHINE" so he tells me that it had been changed.  LOL.  He then tells me that original word is spelled wrong and is FOETUS.   I laughed as most UK spelling versions Canada uses except this one.  Anyways I immediately pulled out two records I own and sent him a text of the albums and said that I know the song of the day for tomorrow.  So that is your first hint.  Yes I am giving you a big hint what band is being featured for the song of the day.  The band is really just a solo project from Aussie JG Thirtwell.  The song is the last song on side A on the fourth studio album called Nail from 85.  Ok here is a big hint, it is the pic I sent Glen.

You guessed it.  It is Scraping Foetus Off The Wheel which was previously You've Got Foetus On Your Breathe and after Scraping Foetus Off The Wheel became just Foetus.  The song I have picked for your listening pleasure is Decent Into The Inferno

I started out so well on Quordle.  I had my first two words in 3 and 4 guesses but came down to a 50-50 guess on my last word and I guessed the wrong one.  Oh well.

First and foremost today, Happy Mother's Day.  Miss ya Mom.  Today's song was inspired by the Great state of Texas.  This song comes from the second album from this US and A and Belgium industrial band.  It came out in 90 and had a lot of drum and sampling.  I danced quiet a bit to this at Gracelands in Vancouver.  I missed those days.  The song starts with a few of Texas' best boys talking on the phone about the upcoming appearance of the band thinking it must be a male strip show.  Got your interest now you perve.  There is a part in the song sampled from the movie Deliverance.  It is the redneck scene "Now lets you just drop them pants."   The song is Beers, Steers and Queers and the band is The Revolting Cocks.  Fuck putin.

Welcome to the weekend.  I forgot to say fuck putin yesterday so a double fuck you to the piece of dawg excrement commie bastard.  Today's song came out in 83 but most people know this band as a late 80s early 90s Industrial band.  They are from Chi Town in the US and A and were founded by Al Jourgensen.  You might be familiar with their later albums such as The Land of Rape and Honey as well as A Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste.  Loved dancing at Gracelands in Vancouver in the late 80s to their industrial music.  Anyways the song I am picking was more new wave and was accompanied by Shay Jones.  The song is I Wanted To Tell Her and the band is Ministry.

Song of the Day for Tuesday

I am not sure about you but I really liked everything Trent Reznor did.  Nine Inch Nails' first album Pretty Hate Machine I thought was great especially if you liked Industrial music of the late '80s.  I was living in Vancouver BC at the time and Trent wrote Head Like A Hole after touring with BC boys Skinny Puppy.  If you are making any amazon.ca purchases please click on my links below first as I will get a small commission on anything you buy even if it is something else. Song of the Day for Sunday

Time for some Industrial.  Loved listening to Ogre of Skinny Puppy sing when I was living in Vancouver and was able to see them live a few times but danced a ton to them at Gracelands especially Ode to Groovy.  I however picked Smothered Hope.  I hope your weekend was great.  As Dieter said on Sprockets on  SNL, It is time to dance.   If you are Canadian and  making any amazon.ca purchase please click on my links below first as I will get a small commission on anything you buy even if it is something else.   Thanks. Song of the Day for Sunday

With 1000 Mona Lisas yesterday I just had to follow up with 1000 Homo DJs today.  I was going to go with Hey Asshole but I decided to go with Supernaut because this is a cover of Black Sabbath.  This version is from the side project of Ministry's Al Jourgensen but Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails also did vocals on another version but I dont have that CD so I went with this one.  If you are Canadian and  making any amazon.ca purchase please click on my links below first as I will get a small commission on anything you buy even if it is something else.   Thanks. Song of the Day for Sunday

I heard this Industrial classic by Front 242 while I was running on Wednesday and said to myself oh what a perfect song for Sunday.  It came out in 88 when I was in grad school and I remember dancing at Gracelands on Richards Street in Vancouver to this.  I was a whack job lol.  Anyways Welcome To Paradise is a great song and not to be confused with Greenday's song.  Heck this isn't even Front 242's  best song.  Enjoy.  Oh by the way there is a great live version on youtube but it can't be embedded here so if you want to watch that version click here.  If you are Canadian and making any amazon.ca purchases please click on my link below  the video which will take you to amazon.ca.  Thanks.

Song of the Day for Saturday

I know this might not be everyone's cup of tea but to each his own.  This was a great dance tune for me in the  late 90s.  I liked grunge having lived on the left coast in the late 80s early 90s but I also liked industrial.  If you are Canadian and making any amazon.ca purchases please click on my link below  the video which will take you to amazon.ca.  Thanks.
