Before today's song of the day I just wanted to post a picture of my Dad and myself when I was in grade 9.  I had just won the Sandwich Midget Relays 400m.  This was 1980.  My Dad passed on 30 years ago today.  He died in my arms.  I miss you Dad. Vjechnaya Pamyat.

Today's song of the day is from a Cali Industrial band.  The song came out in came out in 98 on their Candyass lp.  The song is a cover from one of my favourite dance tunes from a UK band from 83.  It is the best selling 12 inch single of all time. The original comes from the lp Power, Corruption and Lies.  The original band is New Order.  The cover band sounds like Trent Reznor should be in the band.  The band is Orgy and the song is Blue Monday.  I believe when New Order was putting this song together Peter Hooke said "fuck putin".

Today's song of the day is from 77.  The band is from the US and A.  The album is the band's seventh.  It is the first song on this triple platinum album.  The song I picked was never released as a single but could have been.  The song is also the name of the album. I actually own this nonpunk album and it is a cool gold vinyl colour.  The band's name comes from Greek mythology as the main river in the underworld or possibly from the Illuminati's secret phrase "fuck putin" .  That is enough.  The band is Styx and the song and album are The Grand Illusion.  I will give you both a live version from 78 and then the lp version.

Today's song of the day comes from a ska punk band from the state where you don't say gay.  From Gainsville Flo Rida.  The song came out in 2005.  In the video the lead is Alexis Bledel from The Gilmore Girls and she is shown having a nervous breakdown and destroying her bedroom.  The song was one of the singles of the album Anthem.  The band performed on the Warp Tour.  The band is Less Than Jake and the song is She's Gonna Break Soon.
